Development automation processes of ginning machine in the initial treatment of raw cotton by PSO-Based PID Controller

Abstract

This paper demonstrates the importance of using the PID unit controller according to Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm for developing and increasing production rate by speed control and work the ginning machine. Model of unit control was developed with acceptable control quality indicators in SIMULINK with a feedback device that excludes errors from the influence of factors that cannot be controlled. The design and development of this unit controller based on the knowledge of   system and control tools for the proposed ginning machine , type (SDMT MY171-17) . Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method was used to tuning PID parameters . And by using the proposed control system, and the output response was good ,and it meet the requirements for developing automation systems for the  ginning machine  .

The results showed the effectiveness and durability of the proposed control units to provide a suitable working speed for the ginning machine used in the primary processing operations of raw cotton from what increases the cotton production and its quality with a minimum overshoot, minimum transient and steady state parameters, which shows more effectiveness and efficiency of PID controller in the working of ginning machine.
