Abstract

The aim of this work is to apply the advanced oxidation process (AOP) using photo catalytic system in order to remove the amoxicillin from polluted water. The advanced oxidation process were used UV/TiO2, UV/ZnO/TiO2 and UV/ZnO as catalysts. Minitab software was used to design the experiments and to find the optimum conditions which were studied. The three variable studied were pH of polluted water (2-9), the dosage of catalysis (25-100 ppm), and the time (30-90 min). The results showed that 72.3%, 85.3% and 100% of the amoxicillin was recovered for the UV/TiO2, UV/ZnO/TiO2 and UV/ZnO system respectively.
