Abstract

This paper aims to provide insights into talent management and employee engagementvariables, in an effort to understand how these management practices are prevalent in the selected Retail sector in Bangalore city. It also aims to examine the link of these two constructs to employeeperformance and to suggest a pathway to improve the present practices, if any, in order to improve the work performance. The sample of the study consisted of 150 full time employees who wererandomly selected and surveyed using an online self-structured questionnaire. The results of thisempirical research discover that talent management and employee engagement can significantly affectthe level of employeeperformance. This study also found that these two interrelatedvariables contribute to the organizational success and positioning. Talent Management and employee performance aredetermined as tactical tools to implement strategic objectives as well as improve employees andorganization’s performance.
