Abstract

The objectives of this study are to study the human settlement, migration, and cultural
conservation of the Siamese in Kelantan, Malaysia. The study identified four categories of Siamese
migration and settlement in Kelantan, Malaysia. The first category is Siamese people originally from
Kelantan. The second is Siamese who migrated from the south of Thailand. The third category is
soldiers who came from Siam to colonize the Malay Peninsula, and the last category is Siamese who
are part of a half-caste (Siamese and Thai) or, in some cases, are Thai who have changed their
nationality to Malaysian (Malaysian Siamese) after getting married.
