Abstract

phase grid-connected inverter system for photovoltaic (PV) applications. The system consists of
current source inverter (CSI) and LCL filter. The DC capacitor and Maximum Power Point Tracker
(MPPT) algorithm will regulate the DC bus voltage, while the Hysteresis Current Control (HCC) is
adopted to provide the switching signals to the power switches in CSI. Additionally, the P and Q method
is used to provide the power flow control between the inverter system and grid. Based on the results
obtained, the proposed control strategy is able to achieve robust current regulation, unity power factor,
low total harmonic distortion (THD) and maximize the PV energy extraction for the grid-connected PV
systems. The proposed control strategy for the single-phase grid-connected inverter system with
photovoltaic (PV) application is intensively simulated in Matlab\Simulink environment to verify its
effectiveness and simplicity.
