‘Z’ Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness: Position from I to together

Abstract

Today the dominance in workforce across the globe even in Nepal is by the Z generation. Z generation is friendly with the technology and that they are dedicated enough but they don’t want to do the work by force means they require freedom. Thus, the leading techniques requires to think from I to together. But the observation doesn't provide such scenario in Nepal. Thus, this study aimed to determine the position of application of Z theory of leadership and impact of Z leadership on the organizational effectiveness within the five star hotels of Nepal based on the perception of the staff. This study measured the Z leadership explained by mutual trust, integrated organization, coordination, informal control system , human resource development, consensual decision making and powerful bond between the organization and employees and organizational effectiveness was measured using market growth and productivity. The data was collected using the five-point Likert scale questionnaire. 1 refers to strongly disagree with five strongly agree. The population was considered to the staff of 5 star hotels operating in Nepal and sample size made up our minds supported statistical calculation. 256 samples were selected for the purpose of the study. Questionnaire was administered personally and electronically. Collected data were analysed using the Mean and multiple correlation model. Before that reliability of the data was tested using Cronbach alpha value. To justify the idea of regression, Normality test using the Kolmogorov-Smirnova test, multicollinearity testing was performed using collinearity statistics (VIF) and Heteroscedasticity were tested. The results showed that the deployment of Z leadership within the five star hotels operating in Nepal is, for sure, low but the staff of 5 star hotel thinks that the application of Z leadership in five star hotel of Nepal can increase the effectiveness of hotel by increasing market growth and productivity.
