C shaped optical patch antenna with cross-shaped stub for Quad-band THz operation

Abstract

A C shaped patch with cross stub is proposed for quad-band THz application. The total size of the C shaped antenna is 30 µm x 32µm x 1.6 µm. The structure is printed on a reduced grounded FR 4 structure. The antenna is operating on four different bands with resonating frequency at 2.45 THz,4.51 THz, 8.03 THz, and 13.82 THz. The parameters which havean effect on the performance are choosing with the help of parameter analysis. The structure is simulated using CST EM studio. The C shaped antenna has good impedance bandwidth in all the resonating bands. The proposed structure is validated with the reflection coefficient's simulated results, gain, directivity, and radiation pattern. The simulated results show that the proposed antenna is a good candidate for the THz application due to its low profile with good parameter performance.
