ENTREPRENEURIAL AGILITY LEADERSHIP OF INDONESIAN SMES: TREND AND DOMINANT FACTORS

Abstract

This study aims to explore entrepreneur trend and dominant factors of agility leadership style in different types of SMEs in Indonesia.  The study involved 236 respondents from 15 SMEs in the creative sector using the approach of neuro research methodology with descriptive analysis and classification as well as regression trees analysis. Instrument calibration consisted of 3 stages. The first is content validity instrument by expert judgment consisting of entrepreneur and academic. The results of content validity generated 3 dimensions, 5 indicators and 19 items. The second is construct validity through Orthogonal Iteration approach.There were 18 items for the valid instrument. The third is the calculation of instrument reliability index with Cronbach Alpha of 0.850. Demographic analysis shows that entrepreneurial background influences their agility leadership. However, with the willingness and ability of entrepreneurs to focus on and be flexible with the conditions they experience, the two things are able to improve the ability of entrepreneurs in developing agility leadership that they must have. These two components need to be pursued through a variety of real programs because the success of entrepreneurs in applying agile leadership will help improve the performance of their businesses.
