Abstract

- Looking at the past decade, the adverse effect on the global climate and the degraded
environment human beings are subjected to frequent natural and man-made disasters. Of late
optimization of disaster management is of at most importance. Although CSC is more developed
with a robust framework but HSC is still practiced in an unorganized manner which creates a void
upon which continuous improvement can be desired. Researches in the past were mostly conducted
to develop and evaluate the Critical Success Factors in Humanitarian Supply Chain but the
pandemic has left humanitarian activity practitioner especially in India confused and restricted
because of unawareness and unpreparedness of the situation. Hence this research paper intends to
identify Key Success Variables (KSV) through extensive literature review and expert consultations
with regards to Indian pandemic situation and Interpretive Structural Modelling (ISM) approach
can be used to evaluate the interdependency among the KSVs. This is intended to guide and assist
the humanitarian practitioners, Governmental/Non-Governmental Organizations to concentrate on
variables that will contribute to the purpose.
