Abstract

Haptic technology is the technology that stimulates the senses of touch. Haptic technology which
has wide range of applications in many fields has been extremely useful in medical field .The
potential and vision of future remote operations led to the development of tele surgical devices. In
the past, surgeons used their fingertips to hold and manipulate instruments which has less accuracy
in result. The telerobotic systems provide efficient safety, accuracy, outcomes. Haptic sensation
plays make the surgeon to perform the surgery easily. The burden of the surgeon is reduced by its
efficient interaction. In this project the proposed system helps the user to get tactile feedback from
object using wireless communication such that the haptic device is significant because of the
simultaneous exchange of information between the user and machine. Here the Arduino gets the
analogy input from the flex sensor fitted in the human glove which in turn gets converted to PWM
signal for the rotation of servomotor. This movement controls the position of the gripper. Force
sensor in the gripper senses the force while holding the object and sends the feedback to the user’s
glove via Bluetooth communication. Thereby one can exactly sense and analyse the hardness and
softness of the object at low cost
