Comparative Analysis on Higher Education Institution Systems using ISO/IEC 25010

Abstract

Software quality standards are very important in this generation, especially that we are facing
different challenges of disruptions brought by the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Innovation of work
processes with the use of software technology and systems are very necessary in order to cope up with the
demands and needs of the industry. Assessments are conducted to measure the needs for improvement of
products and services. This study focuses on the comparative analysis of an existing web-based alumni
tracer system and In-house Learning Management System using a standard instrument patterned to ISO/IEC
25010. There were seven dimensions considered in the evaluation of the systems, and they are namely:
usability, reliability, functionality, performance efficiency, maintainability, portability and security. To test
the systems, I.T. experts and professionals have been invited to check and evaluate the two system. The
results of assessment using the ISO/IEC 25010 model arrived an overall weighted mean of 4.66 with a
descriptive equivalent of “Highly Acceptable”, and the statistical analysis shows that there significant
difference on all dimensions used for the evaluation.
