Personal Healthcare System for Deadly Diseases in Indonesian Youths

Abstract

Mortality rate by deadly diseases in Indonesia is still high, especially in the 15-24
age group. This group is known as the largest smartphone user in Indonesia. The
large mortality rate shown each year in this age group indicates a need for a better
approach to improve their health by the means of aiding in preventive actions, such
as promoting healthy lifestyle and providing easy and reliable tools for early
detection of deadly diseases. There is an emerging trend that utilizes smartphone
for aiding one’s health. Study shows that smartphone-assisted healthcare has
shown as a promising and convenient tool to maintain the wellness of one’s health
and fitness. The goal of this study is to propose a personal healthcare systemwhich
focuses on the preventive actions to lower new cases of deadly diseases in
Indonesian youths that builton Android operating system and internet services.We
also explore the effect of the usage of some gamificationelements in personal
healthcare with user awareness of healthy lifestyle. Gamificationelement focused
in this study is the Challenges and Quests. The result of this study is a proposed
healthcare system with its implementation and evaluation as an Android game
which built using Unity
