Abstract

In today’s continually advancing world, travelling has become one of the primary
activities that are done by almost every people in the world to fulfill both their
physical and psychological needs. Currently there are a lot of travel-related
applications that have been developed for aiding people in their travel; however, none
of them can actually deliver complete and up-to-date information about places. New,
distant, and remote places are often overlooked and just go unnoticed by people.
Updates regarding both new and existing place’s information are also scarcely
published, as they have to be processed first by the vendors or administrators. Content
analysis was conducted among different websites and applications. Providing a good
experience with useful apps is helpful to motivate tourists to revisit the destination.
This platform can be used by practitioners and researchers as a guideline to design
usable mobile applications for eco-tourists and other niche segments of tourism. WikiBased Travel Guide provides a solution to such problems by integrating wiki concept
into the existing mobile-based travel system. This integration surely becomes the
standing point of the application, as it enables the users to instantaneously make
modification on place’s information by adding, modifying, and reverting the
landmark’s data.
