The Influence of Emotional Intelligence and Work Motivation on Job Performance in the Company

Abstract

The research is focused on the influence of emotional intelligence and work motivation on
jobperformancein PT Multi Garmenjaya Bandung. The research approach used is the quantitative approach with
an explanatory survey method (questionnaire). Research data is analyzed descriptively using inferential statistics
with regressions. The subjects of this research are human resources (45 staff employees). The results of the
research show that emotional intelligence and work motivation have a thoroughly significant and positive
influence on jobperformance. Based on the determination coefficient, R2 is obtained as much as 0.424 (42.4%)
which means how the percentage of contribution of emotional intelligence and work motivation variables to job
performance are. The research result shows that emotional intelligence significantly influences (40.6%) job
performance. There is a significant influence onwork motivation (19%) on job performance. Therefore, General
Manager of Human Resource in PT Multi Garmenjaya has future programs and strategic plans to address issues
in human resource problems, especially about emotional intelligence and work motivation in order for their
employees to achieve a higher level of performance.
