Abstract

The novel method of Selective Harmonic Elimination Pulse Width Modulation (SHE PWM) in
single phase inverter using Generalized Hopfield Neural Network (GHNN) is explaining here. The objective is
to overcome the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 11th harmonic row. The quality of output voltage waveform of the inverter
is improving significantly using Hopfield Neural Network (HNN) control strategy. Here, the solution of a set of
nonlinear algebraic transcendental equations gives the location of the switching instants. An energy function is
form for this problem and the set of Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs) explaining the behavior of GHNN.
The energy function is made equivalent to a certain objective function which needs to be minimized. The
Matlab software is used for programming by Runge-Kutta 4th order (RK4) method to give a different switching
instant for the different modulation indices (M). The MATLAB simulation is carrying out. The FFT result
confirms the harmonic free output voltage waveform which shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.
