However, due to lack of information and knowledge, the consumer tended to attack the internet users (victims) that are prone to security issues. It caused a lot of problems due to disinformation and misinformation on the internet. To identify and analyzed disinformation threats such as fake news, many approaches has been proposed. One of the approaches to access the threat is using security threat models. In this paper, DREAD model is chosen to identify and quantify the risk of disinformation such as fake news and its impact of social media towards generation Z users. One of the findings shows most of young adults have low understanding on the negative effect of fake news. This is worrying especially as this group of users are perceived to be the future generation for a nation for its economic growth and social harmony.
