To Measure the Service Quality of Film and Television Technology

Abstract

The Media & Entertainment industry is a raising sector in Indian economy which is backed by strong customer demand and improving advertising revenue. The players of electronic media are divided into three links. The first link chain are the studios which comprises the hardware part of the industry, second link chain are the content providers and the third link chain includes distribution trolleys- cables, satellite channels, multiplex theatre, MSO’s and DTH players. Being a large sector of providing services to customers directly, the company needs to deliver great service quality so that they can retain their business and customer. Service quality is one of the most aggressive determinants for competitiveness. Service quality provided by a company distinguishes itself from other competitors to gain a competitive benefit out of it. Qube Cinema Technologies is an Indian company that works in film and TV innovation and was instrumental in bringing advanced non-linear altering and computerized cinema sounding system to the Indian entertainment industry within the 1990’s now they have developed in numerous nations. This project has been highly concentrated on their product Immersive Audio which is the audio services provided by them. Audio brands they have been using are Pluz, QSC, Dolby Atmos processors, speakers and amplifiers. Satisfying clients up to their expectations and retaining them is a great challenge in current scenario. Service quality of Qube is been studied by using SERVQUAL method by using questionnaire of perception and expectations. The sample size of the study is been restricted to 25 by random sampling covering theatres of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh. From the collected data the customer’s expectations from Qube cinema and technologies is calculated on 5 different aspects Tangibility, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurances, and Empathy by using statistical tool SPSS.
