Abstract

— Women participation in income generating activities is gaining attentions among analysts as well
as policy makers. This becomes imperative as the global community is presently aware that all genders are
inclusively needed in the labour force to speed up socio-economic growth and development. This study
employed survey research design with data from entrepreneurs in the various locations in South East of
Nigeria to evaluate the effect of education, research and development on women entrepreneurial proclivity.
The result of Kolmogorov-Smirnov test indicated that education, research and development significantly
affect women entrepreneurial proclivity. This study inter alia recommends that women entrepreneurship
deserves the needed promotion; and particularly business training should be combined with other forms of
education to enable them access to suitable mindset, supportive environment, credit, and access to networks.
