Abstract

Northeast India and its periphery marks as one of the most seismically vulnerable region in the World’s seismicity domain. The complex tectonic settings of the region incubate high stress to contribute intense seismicity. In the present study, seismicty map for the earthquakes occurred during 1964-2020 has been prepared using GMT (Generic Mapping Tool), further database has been calibrated to one body wave magnitude scale (mb) to have a glimpse on large earthquakes ~5 mb. The present study dictates the scenario of high magnitude seismicity triggering within and in the peripheral parts of Northeast India.
