Abstract

This review paper unveils determinants of employee’s workplace pro-environmental behaviour. It is based on the
worldwide publications by a reputable database of Scopus ranging between the year 2000 to the year 2018. This
paper discusses the organisational determinants that recently received a more significant share of research
attention. Based on the systematic literature review, there are four organisational determinants identified as
predominant causes of workplace pro-environmental behaviour (WPEB). These determinants include regulatory
policies and practices toward the environment, environmental transformational leadership, perceived organisation
support and organisational size. Therefore, this work intends to review the empirical studies as regards to the
relationship, influence, and mutual effects of each determinant on workplace pro-environmental behaviour.
Ascertaining the determinants of pro-environmental behaviour is vital in formulating the most applicable and
effective policies for cultivating the employees’ workplace pro-environmental behaviour (WPEB) toward preserving
the natural environment.
