Abstract

Sensorless control of brushless dc motor drive control by hybrid field oriented (FOC) and direct torque control
(DTC)of Z-Source inverter (ZSI)for electric vehicle applications is discussed in this research work. The brushless dc
motor drivewith anextensive rotor speedsrange, high-performance demands and robust to motor parameter
variations are required. The hybrid FOC and DTC control scheme is robust against the noise in voltage/current and
combines the features of FOC and DTC techniques, benefits the advantages offered by both techniques individually.
The hybrid controller reduces the response time to speed response when compared to FOC and lessens the rotor
speed ripple, when operating the DTC in steady-state mode. The simulation for the proposed Speed/Torque control
scheme for rotor speeds is done with MATLAB/SIMULINK®
software.Z source inverter find application in the
medical industries, to maintain the output voltage constant for varying input voltage in wide range and controlled by
all traditional PWM schemes.
