Do or Don’t: A Reveal on Green Behaviour among University Students

Abstract

This paper examines the factors affecting influence Green Behavior among university students in Malaysia. The
issue arises when the students aware do and don’t to keep the university aline with green campus but fewer of them
practice green behavior towards the campus environment. Thus, the paper examines the relationship between
environmental knowledge, environmental attitude, proactive personality and green behavior among students. The
unit analysis of the study was undergraduate and postgraduate students who stay in campus. The respondents for
this studies total of 335 students. The results revealed that the positive relationships between the environmental
behavior, environmental attitude and green behavior among students. Not only that, the study shown environmental
attitude is the most important predictor followed by environmental knowledge influence green behavior. Therefore,
to enhance green behavior among students in campus, each university need to provide recycle bins, diversify green
activities in campus, ban the provision of plastic straw in the cafe and conducting green awareness workshops.
