Abstract

In this paper, we apply Harris Hawks Optimization (HHO) algorithm in solving state estimation problems for
electric power system. The proposed HHO is inspired by collective character and style of persecution of wild Harris
hawks. Harris hawks can be exposed as a variant pattern of tracking due to the nature of the dynamic method and
the pattern of escape as prey. The main way behind the established optimizer is inspired by the coordinated function
of Harris Hawk, the smartest bird in hunting as a runaway prey. The Jacobian matrix does not require in this
proposed procedure, only the objective function is to be determined. Under this method, the position of the Harris
hawks is the foundation for any potential answer. The test systems such as IEEE-6 bus, IEEE-14 bus, IEEE-30 bus
and IEEE-57 bus were used to implement the proposed HHO algorithm with results showing its superiority in energy
management system applications.
