Abstract

This paper highlights the current-mode control using slope compensation technique to vary the switching
frequency in order to switch from Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM) and Continuous Conduction Mode
(CCM). This ensures steady output voltage with varying current depending on the required charge time. The end
result of this is a very compact lithium ion charger capable of delivering the same charging efficiency regardless
of the dynamic battery parameters. With an universal input, it is designed to work equally well from a wide range
of AC input.
